DEJA VU is an awakened familiar reminiscence of place, or in the case of meeting a stranger, an uncanny feeling of recognition.

We have an unmistakable sense of prior knowing that person or place — though the encounter is seemingly, in this life,  for “the first time.”

Invisible entities called “elementals” or “elementaries” in Theosophy, can be thought of as “orbs of influence,” in the sense that such hidden entities attach to and manifest hidden patterns of intention.

They are attracted to, mirror and preserve fields of information — reflecting the  influences, beneficent or maleficent, of persons, places and things. The Greeks called them Muses.

Similarly, “sacred space” and “spirit of place” are ideas that, for man, refer to a lingering spiritual resonance of certain locations.

What Makes Anything ‘Sacred’?

We label certain places “sacred” perhaps because of the presence of congeries of invisible entities, and the vibrations they transmit. There seems to be a corresponding subtle part of us that can “sense” these energies.

In music this can be either like The Sixties’ hit, The Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations,” or the damaging energies of hard rock that have been shown to destroy living plants.

Altered States

“When Russian scientists measured the brainwaves of people inside Gothic cathedrals and Egyptian pyramids,” explains metaphysical researcher Freddy Silva:

“they noticed how the surrounding environment created a force which stimulated brainwaves 4000% above normal waking state.”

“Similar experiments at Delphi and Stonehenge,“ Silva reports:

“showed how the frequency of these sacred environments is approximately 7.8 Hz: the frequency of the human brain in a state of receptivity, the kind of state enjoyed by psychics and healers when they are at work.”

The following passage from H.P. Blavatsky is noteworthy because is shows the power of spiritual influences that still must certainly linger in the Egyptian Pyramids.

“The initiated adept, who had successfully passed through all the trials,” Blavatsky says, “was attached, not nailed, but simply tied on a couch in the form of a tau … [and] plunged in a deep sleep.”

“He was allowed to remain in this state for three days and three nights, during which time his Spiritual Ego was said to confabulate with the ‘gods,’ descend into Hades, Amenti, or Patala (according to the country), and do works of charity to the invisible beings, whether souls of men or Elemental Spirits.

The Adepts body remained the entire time, Blavatsky says, “in a temple crypt or subterranean cave.”

“In Egypt it was placed in the Sarcophagus in the King’s Chamber of the Pyramid of Cheops, and carried during the night of the approaching third day to the entrance of a gallery,” she explains:

“where at a certain hour the beams of the rising Sun struck full on the face of the entranced candidate, who awoke to be initiated by Osiris, and Thoth the God of Wisdom.”

Another World Within and Around

Elemental entities exude a normally invisible, living “presence” around us, are made of a sublimated material, yet are still tangible physical “reality.”

Such forms are alive, and preserve images and ideas of the past — and in certain cases, perhaps, speak to us about our own past.

“The whole Kosmos,” H. P. Blavatsky explains in The Secret Doctrine,

“… is guided, controlled, and animated by almost endless series of Hierarchies of sentient Beings–”

Each of these has “a mission to perform,” she says, and “are the agents of Karmic and Cosmic Laws” — and “they vary infinitely in their respective degrees of consciousness and intelligence.”

Interacting with Other Realms

Temples of Initiation

According to the theosophic tradition, the Great Pyramid was originally used as a temple of initiation.

H.P. Blavatsky says that it “was built ages before [Khufu] and he only desecrated it by giving it another use. In his day no more initiations took place in it, and he consecrated it to Tet, or Seth-Typhon [the opposite pole to Thoth].”

“She links the Pyramid with the Egyptian Temple of Dendera, ” writes David Pratt, “some 270 miles south of Giza, and states that since the two Dendera zodiacs show, among other things, the passage of three precessional cycles, or about 78,000 years, the possibility that the Pyramid is of a similar age is worth serious consideration (The Secret Doctrine 2:432).”

How are initiations into higher states of consciousness possible?

“The special organ of consciousness is of course the brain,” wrote H. P. Blavatsky, “and is located in the aura of the pineal gland in the living man.”

“During the process of mind or thought manifesting to consciousness, constant vibrations of light take place. If one could see clairvoyantly in the brain of a living man one could almost count (see with the eye) the seven shades of the successive scales of light, from the dullest to the brightest.”

Temples are generally located above blind springs. These underground courses of water interact with a local magnetic field to spirals of energy which rise out of the ground.

Their locations are often marked by menhirs, dolmens and other large standing stones.

“A spinning motion of energy generates an EM charge in water and creates a local magnetic field,” Freddy Silva writes.

“This can influence the human body to an extraordinary degree: by influencing the iron contained in blood, and the movement of blood itself through the veins, since blood also requires spin to move around the body.

Sacred Sites & Magnetic Fields

“So, as you prepare to enter a sacred site your body is being conditioned to accept more penetrating forms of energy,” Silva writes:

“And since the subtle energy properties of a temple suggest it is also a living organism, the site reads a pilgrim’s electrical field like a credit card. If there is sympathetic resonance between the person entering the site and the site itself, then an immediate bond takes place between both organisms.”

“Since the human body is a positively and negatively-charged electrical circuit, the alteration of a nearby electro-magnetic field will have a corresponding affect on its state of awareness.

“When building sacred sites, the choice of stone was considered for its amount of quartz: a highly programmable and piezo-electric compound. Any amount of pressure on quartz-bearing rock produces a subtle EM field.

“And that is where the temple-building technology reveals itself: human DNA is sensitive to such alterations of local EM fields. Entering a temple rich in subtle energies allows for an exchange of information between the stones and the human edifice.”

“It is well documented that many standing stones in Britain can and do give off high electrical charges, especially when they have not been grounded for many years.

Dowsers are especially prone to these effects since they tend to come into the contact with standing stones in remote places, out of curiosity.

“It is not unusual to hear of people touching these splendid stones, in the process grounding them, and the resulting static charge throwing a person back some twelve feet!”
