Love that comment by Mary Midgley: If the nuerons in Einstein's brain were the cause of his conclusions it would be like the neurons reached the conclusion first and waited for him (Einstein ) to get it! The way I see it if it were purely due to "physicallity we could never progress unless there were a something (God?) overseeing us and interjecting new material when It, he, or she thought it necessary.

I levitated when my ex- husband's great aunt was in the final day of life, in her process of dying ... she was in a coma (more or less) at the hospice she was at the last week of her life. (Suffering from cancer she agreed to go there should she be in such a state of ill health. Earlier in the year she decided that a hospice was a good match for her.) It ended up that week, in that they had been giving her water, keeping her comfortable - she and I 'visited', it was largely a 'one-sided' chat (I wiped her brow, as she would get very warm), held her hands while thanking her for the many lovely things she'd done for us over the years, recounted fun times that we all had as well as some unfortunate things too ... in the process of going over memories, when I also added a few Tibetan prayers to help her get ready to 'go' - and to have no fear - that was when I noticed I was no longer sensing the floor under my feet ... (I was not afraid: I reacted like it was nothing) ... it likely lasted a couple minutes then noticed myself sensing the floor again ... I had been standing at her bedside, so the effect would have been noticeable ... by me opposed to had I been at her bedside 'seated' ... She later passed on within some 4 - 5 hours or so ... we all later shortly after that time frame had a party of sorts with her in the room, before the mortuary was able to come take her body away in preparation for her funeral service ... (Other relatives were summoned so they could say goodbye as well) It was akin to the old fashioned wakes people had in their homes years ago before mortuaries became the regular way to send off folks ... I believe it was the best 'wake' anyone could have had ... She was seen by a nurse smiling broadly in her room that afternoon - I told them she was seeing her deceased relatives whom had gone before her: as they did NOT understand why she was doing that ... !!!! That made sense to them. I was amazed no one thought of that, before (as to the hospice people) ....

I have no problem believing in life on the other side. One day I was called to go to the ICU at the hospital. The gal I went to see had been stabbed 30+ times and was not expected to live. I got to her room in time to see the heart monitor go straight. I knew her spirit had left the body. One quick check of her pulse, there was none. Then I departed. I left the room went down a path, met by an elderly looking man and he led me to a rock where the lady who had just departed sat. Only she didn't have any swelling or horrible looking face from her stabbing. She was healed. I told her no matter what brought this situation on, of her being stabbed, she was forgiven and that her 3 children really needed their mommy. I reached out for her hand and asked her if she would go back with me.....this box isn't big enough for the rest of the story!!! But how did I know I was going back?? I had not died........
