Our Queen Sister, the Morning and Evening Star

Hayley Westenra

“NO STAR among the countless myriads that twinkle over the sidereal fields of the night sky,” wrote Helena Blavatsky, “shines so dazzlingly as the planet Venus.”

“Venus is the queen among our planets, the crown jewel of our solar system.”

“She is the inspirer of the poet, the guardian and companion of the lonely shepherd,” she wrote, “the lovely morning and the evening star.”

“For, ‘Stars teach as well as shine,’ although their secrets are still untold and unrevealed to the majority of men, including astronomers.”

They are ‘a beauty
and a mystery,’ verily.

“This story shall now be told, for the benefit of those who may have neglected their astral mythology. Venus, characterized by Pythagoras as the sol alter, a second Sun, on account of her magnificent radiance – equaled by none other – was the first to draw the attention of ancient Theogonists.”

Bright Stars

“Venus, characterized by Pythagoras as the sol alter, a second Sun, on account of her magnificent radiance – equaled by none other was the first to draw the attention of ancient Theogonists.

Before it began to be called Venus, it was known in pre-Hesiodic theogony as Eosphoros (or Phosphoros), and Hesperos, the children of the dawn and twilight.

The Casimir Effect

“THERE are many false ideas that are dterived from the ‘Big Bang’ dogma. The point is simple: This dismal, depressing, lifeless, soulless, disconnected, Godless, pessimistic goo is what allegedly constitutes our reality.”

(Deek, The Astronomer’s Channel)

“Although this reality is promoted by the editors at Wikipedia, those gatekeepers did not sanctify Albert Einstein or contrive the Big Bang.

“This propaganda is perpetuated by establishment cosmologists who reside in the ivory towers of big government and big academia. Intellectually these have been reduced to vested interests that have a lot to lose! Decades-long academic reputations, self-effacing public proclamations, thousands of peer-reviewed PhD theses, and billions in research grants funded by the taxpayers are all at stake.

“But like their gravity-only theory, the Big Bang charlatans are rife to keeping the taxpayer and layperson disconnected from the emerging reality wrought by hard scientific data. The latest scientific discoveries that refute the gatekeepers emerge from a discipline called plasma cosmology.”

Defying Gravity

“What is finally that invisible and intangible ‘God’ in whom we should believe on blind faith?” H. P. Blavatsky asked in The Secret Doctrine Vol. 1:490 — [thus denying the ‘charlatan’ gravity]. She wrote:

“Astronomers who see in gravitation an easy-going solution for many things, and an universal force which allows them to calculate thereby planetary motions, care little about the Cause of Attraction. They call Gravity a law, a cause in itself. We call the forces acting under that name effects, and very secondary effects, too.

One day it will be found that the scientific hypothesis does not answer after all.”

“Matter (or nature) acting by her own peculiar energy,” writes a Master, “must have always existed — its materials ever changing form, combinations and properties, but its principles or elements being absolutely indestructible.

“In other words we believe in MATTER alone, in matter as visible nature and matter in its invisibility as the invisible omnipresent omnipotent Proteus with its unceasing motion which is its life, and which nature draws from herself since she is the great whole outside of which nothing can exist.”

The Web of Life: A Conscious Universe, Part 1

My Conscious Universe

THE acceptance of new ideas in Science “follows a predictable, four-stage sequence,” says the Institute of Noetic Sciences chief scientist Dr. Dean Radin, PhD.

In an excerpt from Chapter 1 of his landmark work “The Conscious Universe,” Dr. Radin describes the four progressive stages of discovery and acceptance in science.

In Stage 1 skeptics confidently proclaim that the idea is impossible because it violates the Laws of Science. This stage can last from years to centuries, depending on how much the idea challenges conventional wisdom.

“In Stage 2 skeptics reluctantly concede that the idea is possible, but it is not very interesting and the claimed effects are extremely weak.

“Stage 3 begins when the mainstream realizes that the idea is not only important, but its effects are much stronger and more pervasive than previously imagined.”

“Stage 4 is achieved when the same critics who used to disavow any interest in the idea begin to proclaim that they thought of it first. Eventually, no one remembers that the idea was once considered a dangerous heresy.”

The Conscious Universe,” Dr. Dean Radin

The Convergence of
Science and Spirituality

“The possible truths, hazily perceived in the world of abstraction, like those inferred from observation and experiment in the world of matter, are forced upon the profane multitudes, too busy to think for themselves, under the form of Divine revelation and scientific authority.”  – H. P. Blavatsky, What is Truth?

“Truth” by Warner Highsmith, bronze door at main entrance of the Library of Congress.

“Where then is even relative truth to be found? If, so far back as the century of Democritus, she appeared to him under the form of a goddess lying at the very bottom of a well, so deep that it gave but little hope for her release.

“Under the present circumstances we have a certain right to believe her hidden, at least, as far off as the ever invisible dark side of the moon. This is why, perhaps, all the votaries of hidden truths are forthwith Set down as lunatics.”

– H. P. Blavatsky, “What is Truth?”

The Third Eye

According to 19th century German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, “All truth passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as self-evident.”

The renegade truth seeking cosmologists David Talbott and Wallace Thornhill,  protagonists of  the Electric Universe idea (The Thunderbolts Project) declare: “There are no isolated islands in an electric universe, from the smallest particle to the largest galactic formation.” They maintain further, agreeable to H. P. Blavatsky’s The Secret Doctrine, thatThe Secret Doc, that

Web of Life

“A web of electrical circuitry connects and unifies all of nature, organizing galaxies, energizing stars, giving birth to planets.”

Talbott and Thornhill assert, controversially, that “this electric web is controlling weather and animating biological organisms.”

Astronomers like to believe the Sun is no more than a glowing nuclear furnace. That “galaxies are clouds of hydrogen gas and intergalactic dust,” Thunderbolts Project scientist Stephen Smith says in his article The Filamentary Firmament.   That they were all “assembled by gravity until they coalesced into swarms of glowing thermonuclear fires.”

“The Electric Universe theory” disagrees with this standard model, Smith says, and “is opposed to the idea of galaxies condensed from cold, inert hydrogen.”

Plasma Globe

Is The Sun Conscious?

“When a medieval person looked at the sky they looked at a living universe, filled with the presence of God, every star was a living, intelligent being. The mechanistic revolution replaced that with the idea that everything is a machine.

“What if these electrical patterns in the Sun are an interface with the Sun’s mind? What if the Sun thinks? As soon as you raise that question you realize it is an utterly taboo subject. You’re not allowed to ask that question.  It’s simply off limits.”  – Rupert Sheldrake, PhD

Electric Sun

“When you look into the blue sky on a sunny day do you glimpse a ball of nuclear fire or, as the London poet and mystic, William Blake, reported, the heavenly host singing God’s praises?

“It’s an old question, revived today by the notion of panpsychism which suggests that the sun might in some way be considered conscious.”

– Rupert Sheldrake, (Is Consciousness Fundamental?)

“Matter, after all, is nothing else than the sequence of our own states of consciousness, and Spirit an idea of psychic intuition.”

– H. P. Blavatsky, (The Secret Doctrine 1:542)

Consciousness is Universal

Plasma is not Gravity

“Strands of magnetically confined plasma can be seen throughout the cosmos,” Smith argues: “In an Electric Universe, every body in the Solar System, along with every star and galaxy, is charged with electricity and exists within a plasma environment.”

Electric Universe

Likewise, The Secret Doctrine establishes an electric universe. And that our Sun,  driven by electricity and magnetism and other mysterious conscious forces,  like all Suns, is the true heart of the solar system.

Radically at odds with modern cosmologists, Blavatsky  also considered gravity a secondary terrestrial law, an effect of the former rather than a cause.

“The law of gravitation has no right
to be referred to as an universal law.”

“They call Gravity a law, a cause in itself. We call the forces acting under that name effects, and very secondary effects, too. One day it will be found that the scientific hypothesis does not answer after all.”

The Secret Doctrine  (1:490-498)

Plasma in Space

“Today, nothing is more important to the future and credibility of science than liberation from the gravity-driven universe,” say Talbott and Thornhill: “A mistaken supposition has not only prevented intelligent and sincere investigators from seeing what would otherwise be obvious, it has bred indifference to possibilities that could have inspired the sciences for decades.”

God in a Box, a Hundred Versions of It

falling-lightCHRISTOS is the Greek word from which the term Christ is derived. It is an archaic term that was applied to every Initiate of a certain degree within the Mystery Temples of old.

St. Paul, echoing the Gnostic belief in the saving grace of the indwelling spiritual essence in man, refers to “the Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).

The Christos principle is never some thing or person outside or separate from us. Isis-Osiris is the symbolic image of spirit guarding the good and holy mind of humankind.

Every human being is a potential Christ, the unfolding of the Christ-life a major feature of the Gospels, esoterically understood. Christos is called “the WAY,” the glorified Spirit of Truth, and the reunion which makes the soul (the Son) One with the (Father) Spirit. But in truth, gender as we understand it plays no part in this drama of spiritual awakening.

“There is only one religion, though
there are a hundred versions of it.”

 – George Bernard Shaw

The Ankh

Christ is confirmed, by H. P. Blavatsky, as “the divine principle in every human being.” She also wrote in her article The Esoteric Character of the Gospels: “He who strives to resurrect the Spirit crucified in him by his own terrestrial passions, and buried deep in the ‘sepulchre’ of his sinful flesh; he who has the strength to roll back the stone of matter from the door of his own inner sanctuary, he has the risen Christ in him.”

natural_psychic

Kristas

As with the Christos, the Father Spirit, God, is never a separate being, but exists everywhere. “Our DEITY is neither in a paradise, nor in a particular tree, building, or mountain,” Blavatsky wrote, “it is everywhere, in every atom of the visible as of the invisible Cosmos — in, over, and around every invisible atom, and divisible molecule:

“…for IT is the mysterious power of evolution and involution, the omnipresent, omnipotent, and even omniscient creative potentiality.”

“The worship of the dead-letter in the Bible,” Mme. Blavatsky wrote in the Key to Theosophy, “is but one more form of idolatry, nothing better. Hence, the Bible is not the ‘Word of God,’ but contains at best the words of fallible men, and imperfect teachers. Yet read esoterically, it does contain, if not the whole truth, still, ‘nothing but the truth,’ under whatever allegorical garb. Only: Quot homines tot sententiœ.”

universalPLATO the ancient Greek Sage, along with Socrates and Aristotle, laid the philosophical foundations of Western Culture.

It was the irrepressible Plato who famously insisted that deity geometrizes in fabricating the Universe.

In his dialogue Timaeus (c. 360 B.C.) he says “there is a fifth figure (made of twelve pentagons), the dodecahedron. God used this as a model for the twelvefold division of the Zodiac.”

“Various models have been proposed for the global geometry of the universe,” Wikipedia explains.

“In addition to the primitive geometries, these proposals include the Poincaré dodecahedral space, a positively curved space consisting of a dodecahedron whose opposite faces correspond (with a small twist).

This was proposed by Jean-Pierre Luminet and colleagues in 2003 and an optimal orientation on the sky for the model was estimated in 2008.”

Wrote H. P. Blavatsky in Isis Unveiled: “The solution of the great problem of eternity belongs neither to religious superstition nor to gross materialism.

“The harmony and mathematical equiformity of the double evolution — spiritual and physical — are elucidated only in the universal numerals of Pythagoras, who built his system entirely upon the so-called ‘metrical speech’ of the Hindu Vedas.”

We’re Not Alone

ASTRONOMERS reported last week that each of the 100 billion stars in the Milky Way “probably has at least one companion planet, on average, adding credence to the notion that planets are as common in the cosmos as grains of sand on the beach.”

“The finding underscores a fundamental shift in scientific understanding of planetary systems in the cosmos,” reports Robert Leet Hotz in the January 12, 2012 Wall Street Journal. “Our own solar system, considered unique not so long ago, turns out to be just one among billions.”

“There are millions and millions of worlds and firmaments visible to us,” prophesied H. P. Blavatsky over 120 years ago in The Secret Doctrine (1:605), before our modern astronomical techniques and equipment existed.

“And there are still greater numbers,” she wrote, “beyond those visible to the [in her time] telescopes […] such invisible worlds do exist.”

This multiverse, Blavatsky writes knowingly, “is inhabited as thickly as our own,” with worlds “scattered throughout apparent Space in immense number.

…some far more material than our own world, others gradually etherealizing until they become formless and are as ‘Breaths.‘”

§

“That our physical eye does not see them, is no reason to disbelieve in them. Physicists can see neither their ether, atoms, nor ‘modes of motion,’ or Forces. Yet they accept and teach them.”

º

Such unambiguous statements beg the question: How did the writers of “The Secret Doctrine,” in the 19th century, know all this? — It is because, it is well known that two of the ‘writers’ were Indian Masters, collaborating with Mme. Blavatsky.

Those Masters were  connected with the “countless generations of initiated seers—whose flashing gaze  (SD 1:272):

“…penetrated into the very kernel of matter, and recorded the soul of things there.”

Δ

The Secret Doctrine teachings are, therefore, “the accumulated Wisdom of the Ages,” H. P. Blavatsky says (Vol. 1, Page xxii.),  and “could not be contained in a hundred such volumes.”

“Astronomers said Wednesday that each of the 100 billion stars in the Milky Way probably has at least one companion planet.” Photo: AP

“Until April 1994, there was no other known solar system, but the discoveries have slowly mounted since then: The Kepler space telescope, designed for planet-hunting, now finds them routinely.

“Planets are the rule rather than the exception,” said lead astronomer Arnaud Cassan at the Institute of Astrophysics in Paris. “He led an international team of 42 scientists who spent six years surveying millions of stars at the heart of the Milky Way, in the most comprehensive effort yet to gauge the prevalence of planets in the galaxy.”

New Spiritual Patterns 2

DURING critical awakening moments in our spiritual development, we sometimes receive timely messages in our personal consciousness.

More often than not they arrive in symbolic form, and in dreams or visions, challenging our brain dominated mind.

This is because, Theosophy says, our inner, reincarnating self is not here alone. It was chosen by the Higher Self to be its “terrestrial abode.”

In the crop formation above, discovered in Northdowns, Wiltshire, UK on August 13, 2010, we can clearly imagine the rays from the Spiritual Sun interacting with the mortal human beings below.

This occult process is described by The Secret Doctrine in metaphysical terms, how our inner child

“is drawn into the one and highest beam of the Parent-Sun.”

It is this spiritual evolution of the inner, immortal — now semi-awakened aspect of our nature, the teaching says — which is the “fundamental tenet in the Occult Sciences.”

The closer our personal self gets to our Higher Self, true occultism says, the more harmonious outcome in life for a human selves.

A direct effect of an increased harmony between the Arjuna and Krishna in us, that altruism eventually becomes the ruling factor in our life. This altruism or unselfishness is an “integral part of self-development,” as described in a previous post, when acceptance is willing and unforced. Continue reading

Murder for God 2

FEW honest and sincere believers have the faintest conception of the history surrounding the early beginnings of the Church.

Almost everyone is familiar with what is recorded in the New Testament concerning the differences of opinion that arose between Peter and Paul. But how many are aware of the fact that this split continued to grow?

For several centuries after the time of Jesus the best and most prominent of the Church Fathers were irreconcilably divided among themselves on issues of basic doctrine.

In order to retain power and authority, the dominant sectarians inaugurated a custom never before known in the recorded annals of religious history — the custom of anathema.

These Churchmen were too narrow and dogmatic in belief to allow room for natural divergences of opinion, which alone could have made of Christianity a vital and healthy organism. The result was a course of action diametrically opposed to the principle of tolerance reflected in the life of their declared inspiration, Jesus of Nazareth.

Having no faith in their capacity to win the adherence of thinking minds, the Church Fathers used anathema for the purpose of “persuading” those who could not be converted — and of silencing those not to be persuaded.

For the millennium “beginning with Buddha and Pythagoras at one end and the Neo-Platonists and Gnostics at the other, is the only focus left in History,” says Mme. Blavatsky in The Secret Doctrine — (see Holy Heretics) —

“… wherein converge for the last time the bright rays of light streaming from the æons of time gone by, unobscured by the hand of bigotry and fanaticism.” Continue reading

Murder for God 1

Rachel Weisz as Hypatia

THE fourth century was the turning point in the history of the Western world, the period in which Christianity took the form of a strong political organization.

Throttling the old religions, sciences and philosophies, “the Church” arose as a temporal power upon their remains.

At the same time, admiring crowds began gathering at the door of the academy where the learned and unfortunate Hypatia taught.

Hypatia, expounding the doctrines of the divine Plato and Plotinus, thereby impeded the progress of Christian proselytism.

She successfully dissipated the mists of the religious “mysteries” invented by the Christian Fathers, and was therefore considered dangerous.

H. P. Blavatsky writes in Isis Unveiled:

“This alone would have been sufficient to imperil both herself and her followers.”

The city of Alexandria is interesting to the Theosophical student, for there, just fifteen hundred years ago, existed the last great Theosophical School in history — the School which was begun by Ammonius Saccas, (called theodidaktos, or “god-taught”), and ended with the death of Hypatia. A Solar Puzzle

TODAY marks the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere, and the return of an ancient solar festival.

Significantly there will also be a total lunar eclipse, lending additional power and importance to this cycle.

The Earth, Moon and Sun will be lined up together with the Earth in the middle — say, between a rock and a hot place? 😉

“With Mercury Retrograde, and Pluto thrown into the mix,” astrologer Lauren counsels, “we have a lot of healing, renewing, and rebuilding energy.”

“It’s time to throw out the old and make way for the new,” she says.

It is both the Sun, Theosophy teaches, and our hearts, that are the great renewers. Each continuously radiates a mysterious force — indissolubly connected, they both have a similar physical and a spiritual function.

Occult astrology and astronomy identify many ancient temples, chambers and pyramids around the world as being connected to sun and moon symbology. Such sites and mounds are usually considered mere burial tombs by archeologists ignorant of the occult traditions.

Wake-up Time

Confucius and Black Holes

The hunters didn’t have the decency this past Christmas morn to lay down their arms. Forget sleeping in, or reveling in the silence of a new day. They were equal opportunity–blasting away on the Solstice and Hanukkah, too.

And the neighbor with his rock band who begin “practicing” at, oh, midnight or 1 a.m. in the middle of the week, pounding their cacophonic distress signals into the night air.

Whatever happened to the Golden Rule taught by Confucius 2,500 years ago? Poor Confucius; it was rough for him being ahead of his time. He traveled throughout China looking for a job, believing that if he had the right opportunity he could really change the world. He never found one.

Do you understand why he said, as I translate it:

“If people don’t recognize your divine qualities and gifts, and that doesn’t faze you; well then, that’s the sign of a true spiritual aspirant.”

THE DUKE OF ZHOU

Confucius didn’t see himself as an innovator-he just wanted to bring back the foundations for a Golden Age taught by the Duke of Zhou, who lived a good 500 years before him. The Duke of Zhou masterminded the overthrow of the degenerate slavocracy Shang dynasty, fulfilled by his brother and nephew.

His brother is the one who, while jailed earlier by the Shang, compiled a manual on statecraft and cultivating intuition we now know as the I-Jing or Book of Changes. Confucius later edited this work along with other classics. And the Duke of Zhou, who wrote a comprehensive treatise on governing principles, actually appeared to Confucius in his dreams, instructing him.

Towards the end of his life-still unemployed-Confucius felt like a failure, moaning “I don’t even dream about the Duke of Zhou anymore!”

WHICH AGE ARE YOU IN?

Was Confucius one of those embodying the consciousness of a Golden Age while trudging the Earth in the dark age of Kali Yuga that began 3,102 B.C.? “[A]t one and the same time races may be on the earth running each for itself through one or other of the periods,” William Judge explains:

“Some might be in the Golden Age and others in the Black. At present it is admitted that the Aryans are in the Kali Age, but certain childlike races are not so. Within the present five thousand year period we know that races have absolutely finished their Kali Yuga and gone out of existence. This happened to that which ruled a part of the American continent, and hence for them in particular their Kali Yuga must have begun earlier than ours did.”

Perhaps these days, we might call Confucius a “change agent,” someone ahead of his time holding the vision of utopia. My astrologer friend Kathleen Goodyear (“Goodyear” being her married name), might call Confucius a “black hole person.” She believes black holes are powerful portals of transformation.

BLACK HOLE PEOPLE

“People who have planets (especially the faster ones) or other important points in their charts actively relating to black holes seem to live atypical lives,” Kathleen says in her article Astrological Aspects of Black Holes.

“On the positive side, they may be very creative, out-of-the-box folks bringing fresh perspectives to life. Indeed, I have found black-hole activity common in charts of historical figures who changed the course of their professions. The outflow of black-hole energy is dynamic, and many black-hole people are dedicated workers who have an inner drive to work hard…. black-hole people frequently also experience time-warping.

The Greeks held that there are two types of time: kronos, clock time, and kairos, subjective, non-linear time. Kairos is black-hole time. Interacting with a black-hole person can be like entering a place where the clock has stopped. Hours can pass while intimately sharing in this womb-like environment; indeed, transformation can occur. “

PORTALS OF TRANSFORMATION

Clearly, this view of black holes as powerful portals of transformation doesn’t jibe with some scientists’ view of black holes as phenomenon whose gravity is so great that nothing, even light, escapes their pull. Madame Blavatsky would scoff at the idea of gravity being a compelling force in black holes.

“The anti-Aristotelian formula that gravity causes all bodies to descend with equal rapidity, without reference to their weight, the difference being caused by some other unknown agency, would seem to point a great deal more forcibly to magnetism than to gravitation,” she explains on page 244 of Isis Unveiled,

the former attracting rather in virtue of the substance than of the weight. A thorough familiarity with the occult faculties of everything existing in nature, visible as well as invisible; their mutual relations, attractions, and repulsions; the cause of these, traced to the spiritual principle which pervades and animates all things; the ability to furnish the best conditions for this principle to manifest itself, in other words a profound and exhaustive knowledge of natural law – this was and is the basis of magic.

"I told you so!"

"I told you so!"

The theory of black holes has always stirred controversy; Theosophy-bent Albert Einstein didn’t believe they existed at all and the video below illustrates other contrary views.

CHANGING PERSPECTIVES

Vodpod videos no longer available.

But scientists’ understanding of black holes is changing.

BBC News recently reported a study by Germain astronomers who confirm that a giant black hole is in the center of our galaxy. The article quotes Dr Robert Massey of the Royal Astronomical Society suggesting that galaxies form around giant black holes in the way that a pearl forms around grit: “[black holes] may have had a role in helping galaxies to form – not just our own, but all galaxies.”

Perhaps scientists will soon see black holes more akin to the Theosophical concept of laya centers.

“When a planetary chain is in its last Round… before finally dying out, [its globe] sends all its energy and ‘principles’ into a neutral centre of latent force, a ‘laya centre,'” Madame Blavatsky explains in The Secret Doctrine, “and thereby informs a new nucleus of undifferentiated substance or matter, i.e., calls it into activity or gives it life.” In other words, the nursery for building galaxies.
