UNDERPINNING the universe is not gravity as taught today, but an electric vital power, according to Theosophy.

Notwithstanding, physicists are still stuck on gravity to support their “standard model”—that the weakest of forces rules the entire universe—about which, admittedly, they know not much.

Gravity is mathematically incompatible with the quantum laws that govern subatomic particles, and that “leaves 95 percent of the universe unexplained” writes Dennis Overbye in the NY Times.

“For all its intimacy, it is a mystery…”

This may be because the “law” of gravity, as proposed by the standard model of Science, “is only half of a law,” as W. Q. Judge explains in his Ocean of Theosophy:-

“The Oriental sage admits gravity, if one wishes to adopt the term—but the real term is attraction, the other half of the law being expressed by the word repulsion, and both being governed by the great laws of electrical force.”

The mystery of ‘levitation’ is explained by this definition of gravity, Judge says, because “weight and stability depend on polarity, and when the polarity of an object is altered in respect to the earth immediately underneath it, then the object may rise.”

Polarity

The word ‘polarity’ of course refers to the idea that something has ‘poles’—the fundamental property of both magnetism and electricity. Again on gravity H. P. Blavatsky asks:

“How can Science presume to know anything certain of it?”

“How can it maintain its position and its hypotheses against those of the Occultists, who see in gravity only sympathy and antipathy, or attraction and repulsion, caused by physical polarity on our terrestrial plane, and by spiritual causes outside of its influence?”

Living in an electromagnetic universe seems to involve some smart adjustments to allow a “normal” life for the majority of us. For magnetic mystery man Aurel Raileanu, a Romanian hospital worker, it was found that “just about anything will stick to him like glue”—a glitch in his fine-tuning for which there is apparently no reset button.

Known as The Human Magnet, “his ability totally defies the laws of physics,” Dr. Carol Cooper says, “and of biology to boot.”

Aurel, a physical therapist who helps people to recover after accidents, was not deterred that the experts couldn’t detect any magnetism. He said: “I think these findings just add to the mystery.” A reasonable idea since, if normal gravity is not directly detectable, why would its variations be? You decide.

“If any of us now-a-days ventures to relate some weird experience or seemingly incomprehensible phenomenon,” H. P. Blavatsky comments in Nature’s Human Magnets, “the scientist cries ‘I have unravelled all Nature’s skein, and the thing is impossible—this is no age for miracles!’”

In the article she goes on to recount several “weird” experiences with a young Russian orphan girl, Pelagueya, and quotes from the St. Petersburg Gazette:

“the young lady seems to have concentrated in her extremities a phenomenal abundance of magnetic aura—thanks to which, she communicates instantaneously to the objects surrounding her hitherto unheard and unseen phenomenal motions.”

Blavatsky tells of a magnetic mystery boy in America “whose system appears to be also abnormally charged with vital magnetism:”

“Metal articles of light weight attach themselves to his hand so that considerable force is required to remove them. Knives, pins, needles, buttons, etc., enough to cover his hand, will thus attach themselves so firmly that they cannot be shaken off. Still more, the attraction is so strong that a common coalscuttle can be lifted by it…”

“There is nothing whatever of supernatural in the cases,” she comments, and “Why this happens is, we conceive, quite capable of explanation, but as this would take us too far afield in the less commonly known region of occult science.”

Magnet Man

In Malaysia, Liew Thow Lin is known as the Human Magnet. He can make metal objects, weighing up to 2kg, stick to his skin and he is a scientific mystery because there is no trace of a magnetic field around his body. Scientists say his skin is also normal and there is no explanation for his unusual talent.

“Despite exceptional abilities, Jelena Momciloc (8) from Zeljus, Serbia, lives like a normal child,” reports Karmen Horvat. “She has the unusual ability to attract objects like a real magnet and sees her ability as some sort of a game. However, her hands are not like glue for just metal, but all objects! She attracts metal, wooden and plastic objects and she can even lift smaller chairs by touching them with her palm.”

The Ubiquity of Electromagnetism

Everything we do know on earth, not just our appliances, but all beings and creatures make use of electrical and magnet impulses to function.

Not only our hearts and brains, but the entire human body with its trillions of cells and bacteria is electrified by nerves and neurons (see The Inner Ruler).

Birds navigate using their own internal magnetic compasses, reports the Encyclopedia of New Zealand.

Plants, too, can read our human electric thought fields.

And it has been shown that even minerals are internally electrified—a stone struck on stone, as any child knows, with a little effort will ignite a summer night’s campfire. That small spark, Occult Science teaches, has a much larger origin—the Sun. And it says that “the Sun is the store-house of Vital Force, which is the Noumenon of Electricity:-

… it is from its mysterious, never-to-be-fathomed depths, that issue those life currents which thrill through Space, as through the organisms of every living thing on Earth.”

Photons

Computers do not use gravity either—except, like us, they depend on its attractive side to keep their feet firmly planted. But to function, computers rely instead on electrically potent silicon (quartz) chips.

The operation of early radios depended on quartz crystals.

Silicon is the second most common element in the Earth’s crust—and suggests the probability that our terrestrial home, for all its earthiness, is electric to the core—a giant magnet with its north and south “poles.”

The Earth is also a living organism, Theosophy maintains, just as much as man and the other beings who live on it—and their cells resonate with electromagnetic potentials evidenced by bio-fields.

The electro-vital force acts simultaneously on the cosmic, global and human levels. “On the Cosmic, it underlies the constructive power that carries out the assemblage of everything,” Blavatsky says, “from the planetary system down to the glow-worm and simple daisy.”

Now it has been discovered, with the use of specially designed equipment, that every one of our trillions of cells emits light in the form of subtle photons. Another evidence of an omnipresent electric ocean in which everything is bathed. It turns out we are as bio-luminescent in our own way as lightning bugs, and brother to the creatures living ten-thousand leagues under the sea.

“The Great Protean Magician”

“Light is the first begotten, and the first emanation of the Supreme, and Light is Life…both are electricity—the life-principle, the anima mundi, pervading the universe, the electric vivifier of all things.

Humans Glow in Visible Light

“The human body literally glows,” reports LiveScience for July 22, 2009, “emitting a visible light in extremely small quantities at levels that rise and fall with the day, scientists now reveal.”

An even more dramatic example of this energetic electrical field, called by Blavatsky the aura or “astral” (star-like) body, is from the work of the Russian electrical engineer, Semyon Kirlian who discovered and photographed the bio-field surrounding plant leaves, and even human subjects. The astral was described by W. Q. Judge as the “design body”:

“…looking for words to describe the inner body the only ones found in English were the ‘astral body.’ This term comes near to the real fact, since the substance of this form is derived from cosmic matter or star matter, roughly speaking. But the old Sanskrit word describes it exactly—Linga Sarira, the design body.”

A Psychic Entity

A prescient question is posed in The Secret Doctrine: “Why might not psychic natures be enshrined in indestructible flint and platinum?”

“’Entity’ may be thought a strange term to use in the case of a globe,” wrote Blavatsky, “but the ancient philosophers, who saw in the earth a huge ‘animal,’ were wiser in their generation than our modern geologists are in theirs.”

“But this only shows how admirably the occult philosophy fits everything in Nature, and how much more logical are its tenets than the lifeless hypothetical speculations of physical science.”

The Earth Breathes

We might as well add earthquakes and weather to the list of electromagnetically driven phenomena, but of course, this might still be too controversial for our gravity glued science.

Confirming The Secret Doctrine teaching:

“The universe (our world in this case) breathes, just as man and every living creature, plant, and even mineral does upon the earth—and as our globe itself breathes every twenty-four hours.

“There is a regular circulation of the vital fluid throughout our system, of which the Sun is the heart — the same as the circulation of the blood in the human body — the Sun contracting rhythmically as the human heart does.

“Only, instead of performing the round in a second or so, it takes the solar blood ten of its years, and a whole year to pass through its auricles and ventricles before it washes the lungs and passes thence to the great veins and arteries of the system.

“This, Science will not deny, since Astronomy knows of the fixed cycle of eleven years when the number of solar spots increases, which is due to the contraction of the Solar heart.”

The Fiery Wind

For years, scientists have observed unstructured silicate particles in space, but could not pinpoint the origin of a recent observation of the wide presence of crystalline silicates (electrical carrier) or their role in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Where does all this electricity come from, and what is it really? Blavatsky explains the teachings of Occult Science:

“…there is no gravitation in the Newtonian sense, but only magnetic attraction and repulsion. It is by their magnetism that the planets of the solar system have their motions regulated in their respective orbits by the still more powerful magnetism of the sun, not by their weight or gravitation.”

“This subject, being so very mystical, is therefore the most difficult to explain in all its details and bearings—since the whole mystery of evolutionary creation is contained in it,” she says—”In the Esoteric doctrine it is used figuratively”:-

“The ‘fiery Wind’ is the incandescent Cosmic dust which only follows magnetically, as the iron filings follow the magnet, the directing thought of the “Creative Forces.” Yet, this cosmic dust is something more—for every atom in the Universe has the potentiality of self-consciousness in it, and is, like the Monads of Leibnitz, a Universe in itself, and for itself. It is an atom and an angel.”

Blavatsky calls this fiery wind the “transcendental binding Unity of all Cosmic Energies, on the unseen as on the manifested planes.” The action of this cosmic energy, she says, “resembles on an immense scale, a living Force created by will.”

Several quotes from The Secret Doctrine (SD), only add to the difficulties for standard-model Science:

“It is on the doctrine of the illusive nature of matter, and the infinite divisibility of the atom, that the whole science of Occultism is built. It opens limitless horizons to substance informed by the divine breath of its soul in every possible state of tenuity, states still undreamt of by the most spiritually disposed chemists and physicists.” (SD 1:520)

“Force or energy is a quality—but every quality must belong to a something, or a somebody.” (SD 1:509)

“[Forces] are only the effects of causes generated by Powers, substantial, yet supersenuous, and beyond any kind of matter with which they (the Scientists) have hitherto become acquainted.” (SD 1:520)

The Omnipresent Proteus

Many of the teachings of Theosophy published in the 19th Century by H. P. Blavatsky are being reconciled today in science. Among the most startling of these confirmations is that from an atom to the cosmos, everything is consciousness.

But what is consciousness, and of what is it made? Is it substance or intangible like “dark matter”—and from what source does it originate?

Occult Science goes further and asserts that Electricity “is not only Substance, but that is an emanation from an Entity.”

This “Entity” it says, is “neither God nor Devil, but one of the numberless Entities that rule and guide our world according to the eternal Law of Karma.”

“Force and Matter, Spirit and Matter, and Deity and Nature, though they may be viewed as opposite poles in their respective manifestations, yet are in essence and in truth but one . . . [Spirit and matter] are in short the two poles of the one eternal element, and are synonymous and convertible terms. . .  Therefore, whether it is called Force or Matter, it will ever remain the Omnipresent Proteus of the Universe, the one element — LIFE” – (Mahatma Letters)

An Interconnected Universe

“The one fundamental law in Occult Science”

“The radical unity of the ultimate essence of each constituent part of compounds in Nature — from Star to mineral Atom, from the highest Dhyan Chohan to the smallest infusoria, in the fullest acceptation of the term, and whether applied to the spiritual, intellectual, or physical worlds — this is the one fundamental law in Occult Science.”

“The Deity is boundless and infinite expansion,” says an Occult axiom…

“There is a deep philosophy underlying the earliest worship in the world, that of the Sun and of Fire. Of all the Elements known to physical science, Fire is the one that has ever eluded definite analysis.”

The Spiritual Central Sun

This evidently related to the spiritual, central sun, whose rays are all-pervading and unceasing, the eternal and boundless life-giver. HE the Point—the centre (which is everywhere) of the circle (which is nowhere), the ethereal, spiritual fire, the soul and spirit of the all-pervading, mysterious ether—the despair and puzzle of the materialist…”

Plasma Soup

Emerging plasma science has spawned a new vision of the “Electric Universe.” Traditional sciences should now give way to a deeper appreciation of electrical phenomena in space.

Pioneer investigators David Talbott and Wallace Thornhill write:

“Today, nothing is more important to the future and credibility of science than liberation from the gravity-driven universe of prior theory. A mistaken supposition has not only prevented intelligent and sincere investigators from seeing what would otherwise be obvious, it has bred indifference to possibilities that could have inspired the sciences for decades.”

Gravity is our most familiar ’scientific’ dogma. We are subject to it every day of our lives. Newton gave us his ‘law of gravity,’ which describes its effect but doesn’t explain it. “I frame no hypotheses,” he wrote. Einstein wasn’t as modest introducing his “postulates.” His unreal geometry, unfortunately, doesn’t explain gravity either.

The usual demonstration using heavy steel balls on a rubber sheet to represent ‘gravity wells’ relies on circular logic with gravity as its own explanation!

Paradigm Shift

“In their monograph, Thornhill and Talbott suggest that popular astronomy gives a distorted view of the universe. The modern vision evokes a sense of lonely bodies in space—isolated galaxies, self-immolating stars drifting like dust moats in the blackness, and the clockwork solitude of planets. In challenging this idea, the authors emphasize connectivity.

The electric force, they contend, influences matter at all levels, from subatomic particles to galactic clusters, leaving little room for the disconnected fragments of modern theory.
