ASTROLOGY is only superstition, most modern scientists believe. Yet, true science and philosophy seeks “rather to solve than to deny,” says Theosophy.

ONE LIFE which holds together all the planets of the Solar system, the position of those planets at the time of the birth of an individual – which event is the aggregate result of the causes already produced – gives to the true Astrologer the data upon which to base his predictions.”

Astrology, Numbers, and Destiny

“Mention the word ‘astrology’ and skeptics go into an epileptic fit,” natural health researcher Mike Adams says.

“The idea that someone’s personality could be imprinted at birth according to the position of the sun, moon, and planets,” Adams notes, “has long been derided as ‘quackery’ by the so-called ‘scientific’ community which resists any notion based on holistic connections between individuals and the cosmos.

“According to the conventional view, your genes and your parenting determine your personality, and the position of planet Earth at the time of your birth has nothing to do with it.”

Yes, as H. P. Blavatsky in The Secret Doctrine 1:272, explained:

modern science believes not in the ‘soul of things,’ and hence will reject the whole system of ancient cosmogony.

“Seasonal Biology”

“Then again, conventional scientists don’t believe the position of the moon has anything to do with life on Earth, either,” Adams writes. “They dismiss the wisdom that farmers have known for ages — that planting seeds or transplanting living plants in harmony with the moon cycles results in higher crop yields. Even the seeds inside humans are strongly influenced by the moon, as menstruation cycles and moon cycles are closely synchronized (28 days, roughly).”

“And recently, scientific studies showing planetary imprinting called ‘seasonal biology’ have confirmed the underlying principle of astrology. The scientific study shows that planetary positions do, surprisingly, influence our biological clocks. Why not our psychological and mental states as well?”

Occult Influences

“The ancients always considered the ‘ambient’ – or entire heaven – at birth,” Blavatsky colleague William Q. Judge wrote in Astrological Influences, “as being that which affected man.”

New Age Guru, H. P. Blavatsky, referred often to astrology in her Theosophical writings, as in the following lines from “The Theosophist” in Blavatsky Collected Writings compiled by Boris de Zircoff.

Although a study of the science of astronomy may enable us “to determine what the course of events will be,” she maintained, adding: 

the clock indicates, it does not
influence the time.

Thus, she said: “though the planets may have no hand in changing the destiny of man, still their position may indicate what that destiny is likely to be.”

And a distant traveler has often to put right his clock, so that it may indicate correctly the time of the place he visits.

Now a scientific group is promoting the reality of an electric universe, a fundamental of The Secret Doctrine. “Sit down before facts like a child, and be prepared to give up every preconceived notion,” wrote T. A mistaken supposition has not only prevented intelligent and sincere investigators from seeing what would otherwise be obvious, it has bred indifference to possibilities that could have inspired the sciences for decades.

Destiny

“Yes, ‘our destiny is written in the stars!’, Blavatsky wrote. “Only, the closer the union between the mortal reflection MAN and his celestial PROTOTYPE:

“…the less dangerous the external conditions and subsequent reincarnations – which neither Buddhas nor Christs can escape.”

Astrology is a Science

Heart Field

“It should be well remembered that just as the astronomer who catalogues the stars cannot add one atom to the universe — no astrologer, no more than the planet, can influence the human destiny.”

“True Astrology is a mathematical science, which teaches us what particular causes will produce what particular combinations,” Blavatsky wrote, “and thus gives us the means of obtaining the knowledge how to guide our future births.”

“True, such astrologers there are but few: but are we justified in condemning the science of electricity because there may be very few real electricians?

“We must not lose sight of the fact that although there are numberless combinations that must be determined by the psychic vision of the astrologer.”

“It is these cases which baffle us when we find that some astrological calculations prove correct while others are quite beside the mark.”

The True Sun

The Theosophical Adepts teach that the visible Sun is a reflection, the glowing shell of the real Sun within. The real Sun was considered to be

…a center of universal life or electricity — the physical Sun being the mirror, focus, and reservoir of the Divine Radiance.

“This Divine Radiance or Universal Life manifests on the physical plane as atomic energy. The visible Sun is a bundle of electromagnetic forces. The elements on Earth, known and unknown, are found in its ‘outer robes,’ or chromosphere,” The Secret Doctrine teaches.

The sunspots observed in every eleven-year cycle, are held by Theosophy to be due to the contraction of the “solar heart“ which throws out life energy into the solar system.

Solar Heart

“It is an absurdity to say that the solar fires are being consumed and gradually extinguished,” Blavatsky explained:

“The Sun has but one distinct function — it gives the impulse of life to all that breathes and lives under its light. The sun is the throbbing heart of the system, each throb being an impulse.

“But this heart is invisible: no astronomer will ever see that which is concealed in this heart.”

“That which we feel and see, its apparent flame and fires, are the nerves governing the muscles of the solar system — and nerves, moreover, outside of the body. This impulse is not mechanical but a purely spiritual, nervous impulse.”

Nasa has released the first pictures of the sun,  reports The Telegraph, UK, taken from its new Solar Dynamics Observatory:

Eye on the Sun

“These initial images show a dynamic sun that I had never seen in more than 40 years of solar research,” said Richard Fisher, director of the Heliophysics Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington.

This ultraviolet image of the sun was taken on March 20,2010 by NASA’s recently launched Solar Dynamics Observatory or SDO, NASA’s New Eye on the Sun:

“SDO will change our understanding of the sun and its processes, which affect our lives and society,” and, says Fisher:

“This mission will have a huge impact on science, similar to the impact of the Hubble Space Telescope on modern astrophysics.”
